Build Analysis
Ellen Joe Premium Stun Core vs F2P Team: Which Build is Better?
Ellen's premium team (Ellen + Lycaon + Soukaku) extends the Stun window dramatically, multiplying her dash-counter damage during the vulnerability phase. The F2P team (Ellen + Anby + Nicole) is fully free and still clears most content, but with shorter windows and lower peak damage.
Premium Ice Core vs F2P Ice
Premium Ice Core
Team: Ellen Joe + Lycaon + Soukaku
Lycaon builds Daze and extends Stun; Soukaku buffs Ice DMG/ATK after a Defensive Assist; Ellen free-casts her dash-counter combo for the full window.
Pros:
- Longest uninterrupted Stun window in the game
- Highest Ellen single-target damage ceiling
- Soukaku's Ice buff stacks multiplicatively with her CRIT
Cons:
- Requires two limited agents (Lycaon, Soukaku)
- Expensive to build to max
- Niche outside Ice content
Rotation: Lycaon dash-stun -> Soukaku Defensive Assist + buff -> Ellen dash-counter loop -> EX Special -> Ultimate in Stun
F2P Ice
Team: Ellen Joe + Anby + Nicole
Anby reaches Stun fast; Nicole groups enemies and buffs Ellen via Astral Voice after her Defensive Assist; Ellen cleans up inside the shorter window.
Pros:
- Fully free units
- Clears story and early Shiyu comfortably
- Nicole's grouping improves AoE
Cons:
- Shorter Stun windows cap Ellen's combo
- Lower peak damage than premium
- Anby's Stun speed is slower than Lycaon's
Rotation: Anby Daze build -> Nicole Defensive Assist + buff -> Ellen dash-counter -> EX Special during Stun
Verdict
Build the F2P team first — it is free and proves the kit. Upgrade to Lycaon + Soukaku when you pull them; the longer Stun window is the single biggest damage multiplier for Ellen.
