Main stat beats set bonus
Before chasing a four-piece bonus, make sure your main stats are correct. A correct main stat with an off-set piece almost always outperforms the wrong main stat with a completed set. Farm the set bonus last, not first.
Woodpecker Electro
Best for: Ellen Joe, Nekomata, CRIT Attack agents
2-pc gives CRIT Rate and 4-pc adds CRIT DMG after using an EX Special or Ultimate. The default CRIT set for Attack agents.
Watch out: The 4-pc CRIT DMG stacks expire if you stop using skills, so keep your rotation tight.
Hormone Punk
Best for: Billy, Nekomata, Attack agents
2-pc gives ATK% and 4-pc boosts ATK further after entering battle. A flexible generic damage set that fits almost any attacker.
Watch out: The 4-pc ramp takes a few seconds, so it underperforms in very short fights.
Chaos Jazz
Best for: Zhu Yuan, Ether Attack agents
4-pc boosts Ether DMG and ramps EX Special/Ultimate damage — purpose-built for Zhu Yuan's burst window.
Watch out: Almost useless on non-Ether agents; its value is concentrated in a single element.

If you are not sure what to farm, Emblem of Severed Fate and Golden Troupe are the two most universally useful sets in the game — between them they cover most burst DPS and off-field sub-DPS characters. Farm one, then move to the specialist sets your favourite carry needs.
