Best Zenless Zone Zero Weapons
Best-in-slot weapons for every type, plus the 4-star and free options that are genuinely competitive. 13 weapons across 3 types.
How to choose a weapon
Match the weapon's passive to how the character deals damage, not just to the rarity. An A-Rank W-Engine that matches the kit often beats a mismatched S-Rank — Lunar Plenitude on Soukaku and Kaboom the Cannon on Nekomata are the clearest examples.
Best S-Rank W-Enginess
S-Rank W-Engines are the signature and limited weapons with the highest stat budgets and strongest passives. They are usually worth pulling for the agent they are made for, and they define the ceiling of each attacker's damage.
Fossilized Core
S-RankBest for: Ellen Joe
Increases Ice DMG and basic-attack damage after a dash, which lines up perfectly with Ellen's sprint-dash kit. Her best-in-slot by a wide margin.
The Restrained
S-RankBest for: Lycaon
Boosts Ice DMG and Impact, extending the Stun window Lycaon is built around. His signature and the anchor of the premium Ice core.
Crackle Reverb
S-RankBest for: Zhu Yuan
Boosts Ether DMG and ramps damage the longer Zhu Yuan stays on field, maximising her burst inside Stun windows.
Spring Embrace
S-RankBest for: Nekomata
Grants a large CRIT and damage bonus when another Attack agent is on the team — the exact condition Nekomata's kit rewards in double-Attack comps.
Heartstring Nocturne
S-RankBest for: Soldier 11
Raises Fire DMG and basic-attack damage, which is almost all of Soldier 11's output. A straightforward stat stick for her kit.
Best A-Rank W-Enginess
A-Rank W-Engines are obtainable from the standard and event banners. Several are strong enough to be best-in-slot on free-to-play teams and are the realistic choice for most accounts.
The Brimstone
A-Rank (Battle Pass)Best for: Ellen Joe, Soldier 11
Gives ATK% and ramps damage with on-field time. A strong generic Attack-engine option for any on-field DPS.
Weeping Gemini
A-RankBest for: Zhu Yuan, Nekomata
Stacks ATK% as you trigger or take anomalies, which fits anomaly-heavy teams. The best free alternative to their signatures.
Kaboom the Cannon
A-RankBest for: Nicole
Boosts Energy Regen and shield/assist value, exactly what a Defensive Assist support wants. Also free from early content.
Spectral Gaze
A-RankBest for: Anby
Gives Impact and aftershock damage, which speeds up Daze build and Stun windows. The best free Stun-engine.
Starlight Engine
A-RankBest for: Billy
Raises ATK and basic-attack damage — Billy's main damage source. Easy to refine to R5 and a safe starter engine.
Fusion Compiler
A-RankBest for: Soukaku
Gives ATK% and Energy Regen, which keeps Soukaku's buff uptime high. Her signature engine and the best choice for the Ice support role.
Lunar Plenitude
A-RankBest for: Soukaku (F2P)
A craftable Energy Regen engine that sustains Soukaku's Defensive Assist loop. The best free alternative to Fusion Compiler.
Best Statistical / Craftable Pickss
These engines are easy to obtain and give reliable stats for new accounts building their first teams before a proper W-Engine is available.
Street Superstar
B-RankBest for: Early-game Attack agents
A common engine that gives ATK% and a small damage bonus. Fine filler while you build a proper W-Engine.
Verdict
Do not pull on the weapon banner until your character roster is set. Every archetype has a strong craftable or event weapon, and the gap between a signature weapon and a refined 4-star is usually 10-20% — far less than the value of an extra character.
