Zhu Yuan Abloom vs Solo: Why the Ether Tag Matters
Zhu Yuan's Abloom state is triggered by a second Ether agent OR a Support on the team. With Abloom, her EX Special and Basics deal a large multiplier; without it, her damage collapses. This analysis shows the team-building rule is not optional.
Abloom Active (Nicole core) vs Abloom Inactive (solo / wrong team)
Abloom Active (Nicole core)
Team: Zhu Yuan + Nicole + Anby
Nicole provides the Ether tag and Astral Voice buff; Anby opens the Stun window; Zhu Yuan dumps her burst inside Stun with Abloom active.
Pros:
- Full Abloom multiplier on EX Special and Basics
- Cheap, mostly free team
- Clear Stun-burst identity
Cons:
- Depends on Nicole staying alive to keep the tag
- Lower ceiling than a limited Ether partner
Rotation: Anby Daze -> Nicole Defensive Assist + buff -> Zhu Yuan EX Special + Basics in Stun -> Ultimate
Abloom Inactive (solo / wrong team)
Team: Zhu Yuan + two non-Ether non-Support units
No Abloom, so her signature multipliers never apply. She plays as a generic Ether attacker with gutted numbers.
Pros:
- Flexible team slots in theory
Cons:
- Large damage loss from missing Abloom
- Feels weak relative to investment
- Wastes her kit's core mechanic
Rotation: Generic Ether attack rotation with no burst spike
Verdict
Never run Zhu Yuan without Abloom. Nicole + a Stun agent is the proven F2P solution and clears content comfortably. The team condition is the whole character.
