How Does Stun Work in Zenless Zone Zero? Full Guide
Enemies have a hidden Daze meter. Stun agents (like Anby and Lycaon) build Daze fast; when it fills, the enemy enters the Stun state and takes increased damage for a few seconds. Timing your Attack agent's burst inside this window is the core damage multiplier in the game.
Daze and the Stun State
Every enemy has a Daze meter. Attacks add Daze (Impact stat speeds this up). When the meter fills, the enemy is Stunned — unable to act and taking extra damage. The Stun lasts a few seconds and then the meter must be rebuilt.
Why Stun Agents Matter
Stun agents exist purely to fill the Daze meter quickly so the Attack agent can unload during the vulnerability window. Anby is the free Electric Stun option; Lycaon is the premium Ice Stun agent who extends the window. Without a Stun agent, Attack agents fire into un-Stunned enemies and deal far less.
Impact and Gear
Impact is the stat that builds Daze faster. Stun agents prioritize Impact (Shockstar Disco set, Spectral Gaze engine). Their personal damage is low by design — their value is the length and frequency of Stun windows.
Timing the Burst
The golden rule: build Daze, then swap to your Attack agent the moment Stun triggers and dump EX Special + Basics + Ultimate. The longer the window (Lycaon extends it), the more of the combo lands at bonus damage.
